Well Said [31 December 2013]

This was from a post on the No Forbidden Questions blog about everyone's favorite apologist, William Lane Craig

This was a comment from Andrew Hall of Laughing in Purgatory on a recent post of mine

And another post about William Lane Craig, this time from The Thinker of Atheism and the City. I find this quote compelling because it applies perfectly to me when I was a Christian.

  1. I was always surprised at how poor his arguments are. I used to watch a lot of debates when I was still on the fence and decided that I'd explore both sides. It was a lot of the same arguments and even when it was pointed out as to why his arguments were poor, he would still use them in other debates. I suspect to try to convince people who hadn't heard them before.

    1. I think that really is it. He has to know the holes in his arguments, he never tries to plug them up. I'm guessing the reason is plugging them admits they are there, vs denying they exist. He probably hopes that the majority of people will never look into it, they will just see 2 intellectuals arguing over something they don't care about, and assume both sides have merit.

  3. Good job. Anything that criticizes that crazy Craig character gets a thumbs up from me. It's just amazing how many wannabe apologists use his arguments in debates.

    1. I find it amazing too. I think it just shows the lack of arguments available for them to use. They are obviously flawed in many ways, and yet they defend those arguments because it's that or nothing.
