John 17

The High Priestly Prayer

Jesus prays to the father. He says that he has told the people that the father is really the source of his power. They believe in the father. Jesus says he has guarded all of his people and none have been lost except the son of destruction so that the scripture could be fulfilled.

Interesting that Jesus acknowledges that Judas' part was necessary.

Jesus says that he is leaving as he is not of the world, neither are his followers. He asks the father to keep them from evil.

His followers are not of this world? What does that mean?

  1. Not of this world? Either they are aliens or...spiritual rather than material?

  2. I'm guessing it is supposed to be spiritual, but I do like the idea of alien Jesus
